Meet Dr. Lofton Misick

Dr. Lofton Misick is Board Certified in General and Thoracic Surgery with 33 years of experience. He earned a B.S. from Howard University and an M.D. from the University of Washington, with residencies at Barnes Hospital and Medical College of Virginia and served as Chief Resident at New Hanover Regional Center. 


Dr. Misick uses his cardiothoracic expertise to treat complex vascular issues and preserve limb function.

Lofton Misick, MD is a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon who has dedicated his life to the surgical treatments of the thoracic cavity.  During this time as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon he had witnessed the hard decisions that many individuals were facing regarding amputations and found his professional calling.  He understands the larger picture of how the vascular system interacts with other body parts and therefore can apply more aggressive treatments leaving amputation as a last resort.
